In the early 1980s a kid from Manhattan Beach by the name of Kevin Salk began taking photographs. Specifically of the emerging South Bay punk scene. He tagged along with local groups like Toxic Shock and Con 800, documenting their shows and rehearsals. The Descendents, Black Flag, Misfits and Dead Kennedys were some of his favorite targets. One summer Kevin flew to Washington D.C. where he captured some amazing images of Minor Threat and the then exploding D.C. hardcore scene. Theologian Records is proud to present this online collection of some of Kevin's fine work. These historical images have not been viewed for many years. Just click on the bands' names above to see the photos. Hope you enjoy them. All images copyright by Kevin Salk.
